Gawad Kalinga
Most importantly, your spending of money will go to good cost! All these proceedings will go to Gawad Kalinga.
Gawad Kalinga which means to “give care” began in the Philippines in 1995 seeking to rehabilitate juvenile delinquents in Bagong Silang, the largest slum area in the country. In the process, GK discovered that sustainability was possible through a holistic community development approach where slums are transformed into beautiful, healthy and productive communities.
Today, there are 2000 GK communities all over the Philippines including sites in Cambodia, Indonesia, and Papua New Guinea. The GK Global Headquarters in the Philippines encourages initiatives from different nationalities to bring the GK way to their respective countries. Together, we can build a global movement that seeks to end poverty by inspiring people to be heroes for the poor.
Gawad Kalinga’s mission is to end poverty for 5 million families by 2024.
